MVT Photo Walk Closing Reception + Artist Talk – “BlackHair”

Celebrate Black History Month and reflect on a year of Marvin Bowser’s BlackHair in Mount Vernon Triangle

Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District (MVT CID) invites you to the closing reception of Marvin Bowser’s BlackHair outdoor photo exhibit at the MVT Photo Walk located on the 400 block of K Street NW and Prather’s Alley. Busboys and Poets (450 K Street NW) will host an in-person in-depth conversation, and tour of the photo exhibit on Saturday, February 21 at 11am.

Celebrate Black History Month with visual artist Marvin Bowser as he concludes a year-long residency of the “BlackHair” outdoor photo exhibit. This artist talk, hosted at Busboys and Poets in Washington, DC, features an in-depth conversation with Sandy Bellamy, Adjunct Professor at Howard University.

BlackHair uplifts and celebrates Black culture through the lens of Black hair and speaks to “Black joy, love, beauty, strength, resilience, expression, and fantasy.”
