Intergenerational Housing at Plaza West Gets Green Light

Friday April 15, 2016

On April 1, the District of Columbia Housing Finance Agency (DCHFA) completed a finance package for Plaza West, an intergenerational housing development featuring family and senior housing. The $89.7 million project, developed by a team including Henson Development Company, Golden Rule Plaza, Inc. and Mission First Housing Development, will have frontage at 307 K Street, NW and 1035 4th Street, NW and will be comprised of 223 units in 12 stories. The grandfamily component of the project will have 50 units reserved for low-income grandparents who are raising the children of family members who, for a variety of reasons, are not able to do so themselves. Amenities will include a library, fitness room, children’s room, 24-hour front desk concierge and a 9,500 square foot outdoor amenity area with basketball court, garden and courtyard.
