MVT CID Administrative Update

Friday September 27, 2019

We interrupt our regularly scheduled programming of fun and lively community news to share this brief MVT CID administrative update about our organization.

In addition to being Rosh Hashanah – and the MVT CID wishes l’shana tova to all who celebrate! – Monday, September 30 also marks the culmination of our 15th year as one of DC’s 11 Business Improvement Districts. Indeed, there is much to celebrate as we both reflect on our community’s amazing transformation during the last 15 years and look forward with even greater optimism and enthusiasm to our even brighter future!

To that end, we’re pleased to share that we’ve been informed by the District Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) that Mayor Bowser has approved our renewal request to extend our BID charter an additional five years. This extension, which we view as a testament of the District’s recognition of our continued great progress as an organization and community, would not have been possible without our stakeholders’ continued support of – and partnership with – the MVT CID. And for that, we sincerely thank all of you!

Stay tuned in the coming months for updates regarding our plan for the next five years as we continue our progress toward fulfilling the vision for the vibrant new downtown neighborhood as envisioned in the framework Mount Vernon Triangle Action Agenda.
