Juneteenth is Thursday, June 19. The federal holiday marks the 1865 emancipation of enslaved people in Texas and is generally celebrated as the ending of slavery in the United States. Our friends at Destination DC put together a comprehensive list of ways to honor the holiday around Washington, DC but there are also ways right here in Mount Vernon Triangle to celebrate Black history, freedom, and expression!
