MVT Multi-Partner Transportation Safety Walk Recap

On Friday, March 25, the Mount Vernon Triangle CID joined multiple neighbors as well as the partners listed below for a transportation safety walk to identify and address transportation modal conflicts caused in and around Mount Vernon Triangle by the neighborhood’s rapid growth and shifting movement patterns in the surrounding city.

  • Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen & Jeanne Mattison, Constituent Services Coordinator
  • District Department of Transportation Deputy Director Sharon Kershbaum & team (including Bicycle, Curbside Management & Community Engagement)
  • Department of Public Works Enforcement representatives
  • Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners Patrick Parlej & Kevin Rogers

Representatives from each of these organizations as well as MVT CID will continue to engage in the weeks and months ahead to address issues identified during the transportation safety walk and implement mitigations that increase pedestrian and bicyclist safety as well as reduce motorist frustration.
