Winter Weather Update: MVT CID Clean Team Ready for Action

Friday January 23, 2026

With the National Weather Service forecasting heavy winter weather beginning tomorrow, January 24, your MVT CID Clean Team is fully prepared to ensure that our community is walkable and open for business. Our team will focus on clearing handicapped ramps, bus stops, and fire hydrants using eco-friendly ice melt, as well as providing supplemental snow and ice removal around specific properties on an as-needed basis. Be sure to thank them when you see them in action!

The District Snow Team also began pretreatment operations and spread brine on streets starting 7pm last night, January 22 through 7am today, January 23.

Also quick reminder: businesses and commercial property owners are responsible for clearing snow and ice from the sidewalk in front of the building and ensuring they are accessible within the first eight (8) daylight hours of the storm’s end. They must also clear snow from outdoor dining spaces like streateries and parklets. For more information on post-storm responsibilities, please refer to this DDOT resource.

Stay safe and warm, everyone, during Snowzilla 2026!
